Our Company

Zumo was founded in 2009 by Giovanni Napolitano, an Italian professional water polo player, water polo coach, and graphic artist.

Giovanni believed that not all swimsuits and aquatic sports are created equal. So, he founded a swimsuit company to focus solely on the water polo category. All design, manufacturing, product fulfillment, and customer service takes place in Northern California, USA, where the company is based.  

Zumo is dedicated to serving water polo players throughout the world. Some swimsuit companies proclaim worldwide leadership or worldwide dominance. Our intention is to provide worldwide connection and community for all water polo players through our products, website, and outreach. Our swimsuits are a vehicle for self expression, inspiration, and celebration for you, the players.

Giovanni was born and raised in Sicily, Italy. He began playing water polo when he was 14 years old, and played professionally for 11 years for 3 Italian teams: C.C. Ortigia, President Bologna, and Pescara. Giovanni’s American wife, Anne-Marie, was also a professional water polo player in Italy. They have a 1 year old daughter, Sofia, who loves the water.
